Hot Press Forming process of Clad Dished Head

Clad dished head is one kind of dish head, as a part of pressure vessel, connected with shell using welding type. For example, there are spherical shape, oval shape, torispherical shape, spherical crown shape, cone shape and flat shape, etc. According to the different clad dished head geometry . In welding, clad dished head is divided into butt welding head and socket welding head. And the head mainly used for different kinds of pressure vessel. Such as storage tank,heat exchanger, tower, reactor vessel and separate equipment, etc. The main material of clad dished head have carbon steel(SA516Gr70, A3, 20#, Q235, Q345B, 16Mn and so on), stainless steel(304, 321, 304L, 316, 316L and so on). And alloy steel (15Mo3, 15CrMoV, 35CrMoV, 45CrMo ), aluminum, titanium, copper, nickel and nickel alloy etc.

Firstly ,the end is consists of base material and clad material. Then the clad material as a usual is stainless steel. The base material as a usual is carbon steel. The reason to choose the carbon steel is that mainly consider its high strength. For stainless steel ,there is nothing to say more. Mainly considering its anti corrosion. Now the head is mainly used for the high pressure vessel industry. Its working medium needs anti corrosion. At now stage ,there are mainly explosive, rolling , diffusion welding , overlay, insert metal ingot method to production clad plate. This explosive method is the mainly used among these.

Process of clad dished head hot pressed forming mainly have the following:

• Making the workpiece into the furnace heat after heating to 380℃ in the furnace body. The heating temperature between 940℃and 950℃. During the heating process, controls to reach the heating temperature within 15 minutes. By adjusting the amount of fuel injection and then kept the temperature 5 min.
• Preheat the cavity to 500-550℃.
• Place the heated workpiece in the cavity for pressing, and the pressing time is 2-3min.
• Wind cooling theclad dished head to below 500℃ after pressed forming within 3min.

In a word, it should strictly control the heating process parameter. And holding time after workpiece preheat into furnace heating. So this can avoid effectively avoiding slow cooling to produce carbides. And can work a long life due to the short time pressed. It should cool the clad dished head below 500℃ by using wind cool within 3 min after forming.

As a usual , hot pressed is mainly used for a higher thickness clad dished head. It should choose a suitable manufacturing way depending on its thickness.

DN1800*2700 Heating Element Autoclave Successfully Delivery to the Customer

Heating element autoclave is a kind of production equipment for materials related to materials science, mechanical engineering, textile science and technology, natural engineering and related technical fields.Its main working principle is to use pressure and temperature to heat and press some composite materials to meet the curing requirements. 380℃ Horizontal Carbon Fiber Autoclave was Delivered to TianJin

Horizontal carbon fiber autoclave(also called composite autoclave) is a mechanical equipment which changes the prepreg structure by means of high temperature, high pressure and other technical means to achieve the curing molding process standard. Composite autoclave can be used for metal/non-metal bonding components and resin based high strength glass fiber, carbon fiber, boron fiber, aramid fiber and other composite materials products, such as aircraft doors, fairing, airborne radome, bracket, wing, tail, etc.

Recently, the horizontal carbon fiber autoclave customized by Tianjin customer was successfully delivered. In addition to the conventional requirements, the customer required the working temperature of the composite autoclave to be 380℃. As we all know, the working temperature of conventional composite autoclave is about 200℃. The requirement of 380℃ is far higher than the normal working temperature of horizontal carbon fiber autoclave. The customer also knows that this requirement is special and has high technical requirements. Therefore, it has been emphasized for many times and we are required to prove that we can produce composite autoclave with the requirements of the customer. We can fully meet the customer’s requirements. In order to reassure the customer, we took out the technical parameters and drawing of composite autoclave with the same 380℃ requirement that we did before for the customer’s technical staff to check and verify, and finally got the customer’s recognition and trust.

The horizontal carbon fiber autoclave also adds the function of sight glass, in order to conveniently check the appearance changes of the experimental products in composite autoclave at any time.

After the production of the carbon fiber autoclave was completed and the inspection reached the standard, the customer came to our factory for inspection in middle of May, and gave a high evaluation of our technology and product quality. The equipment has successfully arrived at the customer’s site at the end of May this year.

DN1600X2000mm Medium-sized Composite Autoclave Sent to the U.S.

The Medium-sized composite autoclave (also called composite autoclave or carbon fiber autoclave) is a pressure vessel for curing resin-based composite products, providing it with necessary heat and pressure, and is widely used in high-tech fields such as aerospace, electronics, weapons, transportation, sports equipment, and new energy sources.

At the end of 2020, we TAIAN STRENGTH received an inquiry from a US customer, requiring medium-sized composite autoclave with a diameter of about 1600mm and a length of about 2000mm. Because it is an American customer, pressure vessel design and standards must be in accordance with ASME standards, and our company has had ASME certificates and manufacturing qualifications for 4 years, and has produced more than a dozen ASME products. We have rich experience in the production of composite autoclave for American standard products

According to the customer’s requirements, the number of vacuum paths of the autoclave has been adjusted from 8 at the beginning to 12. We use sampling and separation methods for customers to increase the efficiency and accuracy of vacuuming. Customers can adjust the number of vacuum ports according to the size and number of their own materials and composite products.

Regarding the working voltage and frequency of the autoclave, we can produce 380V, 440V according to customer requirements, or customize. During the period, I repeatedly confirmed the voltage with the customer, because this factor is also a major factor affecting the price of the equipment. On the one hand, ensure that after the equipment arrives at the site, the equipment does not fail to work normally due to voltage and frequency problems. On the other hand, it can also provide customers with a relatively reasonable price. In the end, the American customer gave a voltage of 440V, 50Hz.

The customer put forward the need the human interface in English, and our PLC control system uses the German Siemens brand touch screen system, which can not only control by one button, but also display the situation in the autoclave in real time.

For medium and large composite autoclaves, we generally use hydraulic automatic door opening method to ensure the speed and efficiency of opening the door. For small autoclaves, manual or automatic door opening methods can be used, and customers can specify the door opening method according to their needs.

We agreed with the customer for a delivery time of 120 days, but the actual delivery was 15 days in advance. All the equipment was loaded in a 40-frame container and shipped from Qingdao, China to the Port of Long Beach in the United States

Pressure Vessel Column Successfully Finished and Will Delivery soon

Everywhere whole of Taian city is full of vitality in the mid-spring season.March 21, 2021 is a happy day. The pressure vessel column project for one national oil company undertaken by Taian Strength Equipment Co., Ltd. was successfully completed and passed the acceptance of the third-party inspection company SGS project team. In the next few days, the ship carrying highly anticipated pressure vessel column will delivery and set sail to the other end of the continent.

On December 10, 2020, after a one-month comprehensive investigation,one national oil company finally selected Tai’an Strength Equipment Co., Ltd. as the general contractor of the pressure vessel column project. This project contains a total of 5 spherical storage tanks, which requires 120 welded pressure vessel column with an outer diameter of 1000 mm. Design standard ASME, required material is SA516Gr70N.Steel plate thickness is 30 mm, design service life is 15 years and manufacturing cycle is 4 months . Due to its huge storage capacity, it will have  very high requirements for the supporting parts.The quality of the pressure vessel column will play a vital role in the stability of the entire spherical tank.

After the project was confirmed, our quality manager and quality engineer immediately set up a technical communication team with relevant personnel of a national oil company to fully meet the specific technical requirements. Based on the higher product quality requirements for Pressure vessel column, our company has selected Wugang, the best quality steel factory in China, as the raw material supplier for this project. After the preliminary technology requirements were determined, the engineers of the two parties immediately proceeded to confirm the relevant qualifications. Based on the requirements of pressure vessel column, the welding engineers of our company have formulated WPS, WPQ, JIC and other related operating procedures according to the operating requirements.In the early stage, after the preliminary review by the customer engineers, the relevant CWI personnel of our company immediately carried out the qualification certification work on the documents. The customer engineers were also quite satisfied with this.At the same time, our company immediately started to get in touch with SGS to comprehensively check the quality of this product. Considering that the pressure vessel column products require a lot of welding work, our workshop personnel have conducted a thorough study on the construction drawings. In order to ensure the smooth progress of this work, our company purchased a large number of roller racks. The purpose of purchasing the roller racks is to ensure the deformation of the welded plate and steel pipe due to stress after welding. None of the pressure vessel column welded after the use of the roller frame has any deformation problems. SGS inspectors also highly praised this part of our company’s work.

The period after the project confirmed also coincides with the Chinese Lunar New Year and the rebound of the epidemic in some provinces, which poses a great challenge to our production work. Taking into account the relatively tight manufacturing period of the entire project, our leaders immediately started to coordinate the work of various related personnel, make each work to the individual, and the responsibility to the individual. Through the efforts of all the company staff , the efforts paid off. After two and a half months of intense production, all the welding work of all pressure vessel column was completed half a month ahead of schedule. All dimensions have also been strictly inspected by the SGS project team, and all have met the customer’s requirements.The customer is also very satisfied with it. Due to the tight schedule of the entire project, our company also got in touch with the shipping company. All products will be loaded on vehicles in the near future and deliver to Tianjin Port so as to strive to catch up with the earliest ships. I hope this project can be an opportunity for our company to cooperate with a certain national oil company and open a closer cooperation relationship between the two parties in the future.

Taian Strength Equipments Co., Ltd Spherical Tank Legs Projects Successfully Manufacture

Spherical tank legs(also called spherical tank lugs) are the main parts of spherical tank, spherical tank is a very common gas storage facility in large scale petroleum refining companies. Generally speaking, spherical gas storage tank belongs to pressure vessel, its manufacture standard should be carried out as related standard requirements. A complete spherical gas storage tank mainly contains  three parts: tank body itself, spherical tank legs and accessories.The tank body itself is the main bear pressure parts among these, it is the core part. Other two parts are the main assist facility. Spherical tank legs are mainly used for tank body support and stability among the accessory. There will have a very high quality requirement for spherical tank legs, due to its large scale gas storage capacity.

On October 03, 2020, our company received an inquiry letter from Kuwait National Petroleum Corporation. The main content of the inquiry letter is whether or not our company can provide the spherical tank legs, which are the support part of the entire spherical tank. At the same time, we also received the construction drawings of the spherical tank legs. After receiving this inquiry letter, our company immediately established the spherical tank legs manufacturing committee. The committee contains our general manager, purchasing manager, main engineers, workshop director. This committee will take full reposility for this projects. After all parties carefully confirmed the drawings, our company immediately carried out cost accounting and quality control according to the requirements. Based on customer requirements, our company has carried out detailed and accurate calculation and analysis. The final solution is also very satisfying for the customer. After the final contract was confirmed, our company immediately proceeded to the implementation phase of the project.

Considering the important role of the spherical tank legs, our company chose the best steel plant in China, Wuyang Steel Plant, as the supplier of raw materials for the spherical tank legs. 2020.11.19 after continuous production operations, our company successfully received Wugang steel plates. After receiving the raw materials, our quality engineer immediately carried out the inspection and acceptance of the raw materials, related size verification, material marking, and material verification. At the same time, the welding engineers of our company made a welding procedure qualification for this project and also made a test of qualification certification for the relevant welding personnel. In the meantime, in order to ensure the provision of high-quality products, our company chose Lloyd’s and SGS as the third-party inspection and evaluation agency for this project. Based on the full attention to welding work, our company also specially recruited CWI inspectors approved by the American Welding Association to participate in the following welding operations throughout the process. So as to ensure the smooth welding of this product, our workshop system personnel also updated the main equipment to fully guarantee the size requirements of this spherical tank legs.
