PED Air Pressure Tank Exported to Germany
PED Air Pressure Tank (is also called compressed air storage tanks, buffer tank, air receiver, surge tank, etc.) is used to store gas and stabilize the system pressure. According to the different requirements of customer, STRENGTH can produce high pressure, normal pressure or low pressure buffer tank of ASME, CE (PED), GB150 (China standard).
In mid-September, we received the inquiry of air pressure tank from Germany. Furthermore, the customer produces nitrogen generator and wants to purchase air pressure tank for nitrogen generator. In addition, the customer provided detailed parameters, volume 1.5m3, diameter 1000mm, working pressure 0.8MPa, 2 sets; volume 1m3, diameter 800mm, working pressure 3MPa, 1 set. Since the customer needs PED certification, and we quoted according to customer’s requirements.
For actually, PED (Pressure Equipment Directive PED 2014/68/EU) is a directive, a mandatory regulation issued by EU member states on the safety of pressure equipment. Regardless of its pressure and volume, all equipment whose design pressure exceeds 0.5bar (0.05MPa) must comply with the PED regulations.
In fact, the air inlet and outlet flange standard of the pressure tank is in accordance with B16.5-2013, the flange size is 2’’, and the nozzle is connected to the nitrogen generator by bolts. Moreover, the color of the buffer tank is white, with 2 logos on the front and back.

Main Manufacturing Process of Industrial Pressure Vessel
About manufacturing process of industrial pressure vessel( also called pressure vessel) mainly includes the preparation of raw materials. Such as marking, blanking, forming, welding, non-destructive testing, hydraulic testing, etc.
1.Preparation of Raw Materials
Steel must be pretreated before marking. Pretreatment of steel refers to the purification, orthopedic and protective primer of steel plates pipes and section steels.
Purification treatment is mainly to steel plate, pipe and section steel in the marking, blanking, welding processing. The steel after cutting, groove processing, forming, welding to remove the rust on the surface, oxide skin, oil and welding slag.
2.Marking
Marking is the first process of pressure vessel manufacturing process. It is directly determines the dimensional accuracy. Also geometric shape accuracy of parts after forming. In addition it has a great influence on the subsequent group and welding process.
The Marking is in the raw material or the initial processing of the blank on the marking line, processing line. All kinds of position line and inspection line. And mark (or write) the necessary signs and symbols. Usually, Marking process includes the parts of the unfolding, lofting and marking and other links. So the blank size should be determined before marking. Necessarily, the blank size is composed of the unfolded size of the part and various machining allowances.
3.Blanking
First, Blanking is also called cutting. It refers to the process of separating the required blanks from the marked raw materials. Generally, Cutting methods include gas cutting and plasma cutting.
Gas cutting is also called flame cutting, gas cutting belongs to thermal cutting, cutting requires a preheating flame. But only the flame can not achieve cutting. The key is to have high-speed pure oxygen flow.
Plasma cutting uses high-temperature, high-speed plasma flame flow to fuse materials to form incisions. It belongs to high temperature melting cut in thermal cutting. It is not restricted by physical properties. Plasma cutting can cut metals and non-metals. But it is mainly used to cut stainless steel, aluminum, copper, nickel and their alloys.
4.The Forming
The forming of shell
Shell is composed of several shell welded by circumferential welds. As well, the shell is welded by plate rolling (rolling) and longitudinal welds. It is the basic manufacturing method of shell. Next, the principle of rolling bending is to use a rolling machine to impose continuous. And uniform plastic bending of the steel plate to obtain a cylindrical surface.
Forming of Dished Head
There are three main forming methods of dished head: stamping, spinning and explosive forming. At present, the common methods are stamping and spinning.
5.Welding
Welding is the process by which the atoms are joined together to form a permanent joint by heating, pressurizing, or both. Fusion welding is a processing method in which the workpiece to be welded is locally heated to melt. Furthermore condensed to form a weld to connect the components together. Including arc welding, gas welding, electroslag welding, electron beam welding, laser welding, etc. In fact, Fusion welding is a widely used welding method. Most low-carbon steels and alloy steels are welded by fusion welding.
6.Nondestructive Testing
Nondestructive testing (NDT or NDE) is a technology that detects defects, chemical and physical parameters of materials. Parts and equipment using ray, ultrasonic, infrared, electromagnetic and other principles. Another technologies combined with instruments without damaging. Or affecting the performance of the object to be tested. For example, Radiographic examination (RT), ultrasonic examination (UT), magnetic particle examination (MT) and liquid penetration examination (PT) are commonly used.
7.Hydrostatic Test
Hydrostatic test (overpressure pressure test) is one of the important means of industrial pressure vessel inspection. By filling and pressurizing the industrial pressure vessel. The shell, dished head, accessories of the pressure vessel are inspected during and after pressurization. Whether the material of the pressure component and the weld are infiltrated and cracked. And whether plastic deformation is visible to the naked eye under the test pressure. In brief, main purpose is to check the compressive strength of the pressure parts. Effectively, it can avoid accidents caused by the damage of the pressure parts. Defects that are not easy to be found in operation. Check the pressure parts and their welds, expansion joints. And sealing surface(manhole,check hole, hand hole) flanges (or bolt) and other joints are tight, and whether there is leakage.

How to Operate the Pressure Vessel Hydraulic Test?
The pressure vessel hydraulic test shall be presided over by the person in charge of the maintenance. The operation person shall be responsible for the operation. And the maintenance person shall be responsible for the inspection.
Hydraulic Test Process
First of all, the pressure vessel hydraulic test plug the inlet and outlet of the main equipment with blind plates or flange covers. Then use the electric pump to fill the water. After the water is filled to the visible water level of the steam drum. Furthermore, the superheater will be used to the second stage. And desuperheating water pipe is reversed and filled with water. Next, the water supply speed is not less than 2 hours in summer and 4 hours in winter. When the water temperature is close to the temperature of the pressure vessel wall. So the water supply speed can be appropriately increased.
Hydraulic test of the pressure vessel of the reheating system
In addition, injecting water to the reheating system to increase the pressure through the accidental spray of water from the reheater. The pressure should be increased slowly.
When the pressure is below 1MPa, the pressure rise speed is less than or equal to 0.1MPa/min. When it reaches 1MPa, stop and check. And keep the pressure rising for 15 minutes after the pressure is stabilized. The pressure rise speed is less than or equal to 0.3MPa/min. After rising to the working pressure of 4.4MPa stop the pressure increase. And keep the pressure stable. And conduct an overall inspection of the reheater system. After there is no abnormality, increase the pressure to the hydraulic test pressure of 6.6MPa. And keep it under this pressure for 5 minutes. After the hydraulic test is qualified. Then the pressure will be reduced to work pressure, water discharge and pressure relief. The pressure reduction rate is 0.3MPa/min.
When water continuously overflows from each air door, close each air release door according to the direction of water flow. And then increase the pressure. During the water supply process, closely monitor the changes in the water level. And check whether the components are leaking. And whether the expansion of the heated surface is normal. At last, if an abnormality is found. The cause should be immediately identified and eliminated.
Main Steam The Pressure Vessel System Water Pressure Test
Using the superheater desuperheating water regulating door to increase the pressure. Because the pressure increase should be slow. The pressure increase speed below 9.8MPa is ≤0.3MPa/min. When the pressure rises to 2MPa, the pressure increase is suspended for inspection. If the pressure is abnormal. Continue to increase the pressure after 15 minutes of stabilization.
When the pressure is increased to 5.88MPa, pause the pressure increase and observe the pressure change. If there is no abnormality, continue to increase the pressure to 9.8MPa. And then increase the pressure to ≤0.2MPa/min. At 11.77MPa. Next the pressure increase is suspended, and check for abnormalities. After there is no abnormality. Continue to increase the pressure to the working pressure of the pressure vessel to 19.79MPa. Then close the water inlet valve after 5 minutes of stabilization. Record the pressure drop within 5 minutes after the water inlet valve is closed. And notify the maintenance for overall inspection.
Overpressure Test
If the overpressure test is performed, the steam drum water level gauge should be output. After the check is normal, continue to increase the pressure to the overpressure test pressure of 29.69MPa at the same speed. Then hold for 30 minutes. And release the pressure at a rate of 0.3MPa/min with a trap .When the working pressure of the pressure vessel is reached. Close the trap, maintain the normal test pressure. And conduct an overall inspection.
After the water pressure test is over, use a continuous drain or trap to release the pressure at a rate of 0.3 MPa/min. When the pressure drops to 0.2MPa, open the air gates and traps to drain the water. If the pressure vessel is ready to be put into operation and the water quality is qualified. It can be put to the ignition water level. Otherwise all the water should be drained and refilled. The superheater, main steam pipe, and reheater should drain the water collection. Notify the maintenance to lift the safety full door pressing device. If the pressure vessel is not put into operation within a short period of time, close the pressure relief door. And perform maintenance in accordance with the shutdown maintenance regulations.

How to Avoid Composite Autoclave Machine Accidents?
Composite autoclave machine (also called carbon fiber autoclave) is a kind of pressure vessel equipment. Users should pay special attention to the safety of related pressure vessel operation during its use, except the safety of conventional equipment. The main manifestation is the explosion or explosion caused by the of hyperpressure inside the autoclave machine or leakage accidents, so it is necessary to formulate corresponding precautions in order to safely carry out the production work of autoclave machine curing. There are related autoclave machine explosions and leaks in the past. Today, we will briefly discuss how to avoid autoclave machine accidents.
1. The operator must strictly abide by the technological process and labor discipline, and operate in strictly accordance with the safety technical operating procedures. Not only the operators, but also the management personnel of the enterprise must understand the basic knowledge of autoclave machine, related laws and regulations. The operators of autoclave machine must be trained and certified. The safety interlock alarm device can not changed on the autoclave machine at will. 2. Before production, the autoclave machine must be carefully inspected and the obstacles must be removed in the autoclave machine to make sure that the tank cover is fastened during each production, and the screws should be complete and intact. The auxiliary instruments, signals, pressure gauges, and safety valves of the equipment should be checked regularly. Lubricate mechanical bearings as required. It is strictly forbidden to continue working when the autoclave machine is leaking, the pressure gauges and the safety valve are malfunctioning, or other abnormal conditions. It will need strictly control the feeding amount, speed, sequence, temperature, pressure, etc., to prevent the temperature and pressure in the tank from rising sharply and over-temperature and differential pressure.
4. When people at work, you must concentrate and always pay attention to the operation of the equipment and the surrounding safety. When autoclave machine is working, the operator should patrol the side of the autoclave machine.It is forbidden to stand in front of the tank cover, behind the machine head and the joints of the tank cover. It will also need pay attention to the valve and pipe joints to prevent the high temperature and high pressure in the tank from rushing out and hurting people. It is not allowed to leave the post while working. When filling and unloading cans, you must cooperate closely with the operators and follow the safety operation regulations.
5. At the end of the work, you should turn off the power switch, check whether all buttons and handles are in the zero position. It must close all inlet valves of the autoclave machine and open the exhaust valve. Carefully make process records and handover records. Resting and drying clothes in the autoclave is prohibited. It is strictly forbidden to bake other items in an empty.
6. It should perform regular inspections to ensure the safe and effective use of autoclave machine, safety valves, pressure gauges, and quick-opening alarm devices. Prohibit flames, and ground them well to prevent static electricity.
